What is Duck Sauce Jam?

Duck Sauce Jam is our annual game jam held in Glasgow, Scotland. You’ll have 48 hours to come up with an idea and build a video or board game around a specific theme that will be annouced in the opening ceremony. We aim to make this event accessible to all so don’t worry if you’ve never attended a jam before. You can check out some of the games made at our last jam and photos here. We also have a blog about what to expect during a game jam: Never Jammed Before?

The jam will kick off with the opening ceremony on Fri 28th February and finish on Sun 2nd March. We’ll share the full agenda closer to the jam, but please reach out on discord or through the website if you have any specific questions.

Getting There

For Duck Sauce Jam 2025 we’ll be returning to Barclays Eagle Labs, Glasgow. This is only a 10 minute walk from Glasgow Central Station or 4 minutes from Bridge Street Subway. There is also a Nextbike station just across the river. We can also fit a limited number of bikes in the venue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will food be provided at the event?

TBC.

But I can’t program, how can I make a game?

We hear this a lot when inviting people to jam. But there’s a lot more to making a game than programming. To name a few things: art/graphics, sound/music, level design, storytelling and more. Alternatively creating a physical game (e.g. board or card game) is also encouraged at the jam. Game jams are also a great place to learn as you’ll be surrounded with many people with the same goals and can learn from their experience.

What should I bring?

Please bring all the equipment you need for developing your game (laptop, charger, mouse, drawing tablets, headphones etc.). Also if you plan to stay overnight in the venue we recommend bringing a sleeping bag, toothbrush & toothpaste, and deoderant.
